My deepest condolences on the passing of Jay, whom I had known as USSWisconsin. We greatly appreciated the depth of knowledge he brought to discussions regarding naval ships and tech during his several years as a member of the WAB.
His presence and quality contributions will surely be missed among the community. I was supposed to have kept in touch with him via email, and regret deeply that I had not been more attentive to doing so.
My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

My condolences to Jack. It has been a long time since we have seen each other. I have recently been in contact with Jay on Facebook and still find him to be as fascinating, intelligent, and loving as he was as a student so many years ago. My best to you and yours, A hug and lots of love!

I always watched for Jay's postings on WAB in the naval forum and read them religiously. I was informed and entertained by the book he compiled and his sketches. Please accept my deepest sympathies.

I met Jay online through WAB- The World Affairs Board. We're a current events/political/military affairs board. Turned out Jay and I attended the same concert in Madison back in 1978 and both of us had a deep love of music, the University of Wisconsin and current events. Surprised to learn I grew up only twenty five miles away from Jay in Delafield.
He was a real asset to our community and his loss has deeply saddened us. Our condolences to Jay's family and friends. Your loss is immense. He was a wonderful friend.
Sincerely,
Steve Pitcock

I was devastated to learn about the passing of my friend Jay. My condolences to all his family and loved ones, especially to Kristin and Naomi, who he spoke about often.
We interacted for many years online where Jay was a much loved and valued member of the World Affairs Board community. Over time Jay & I developed a closer friendship that extended beyond the forum. He was the only person I have ever met who had a really good reason to visit my home town of Melbourne - he wanted to visit an ageing battleship that is situated here. During one of his bouts of illness I was pleased to be able to send him some souvenirs from the ship. I will never be able to think about battleships without thinking about Jay.
Jay was one of the most gentle, beautiful souls I have ever encountered. I loved his beautiful art, shared his love of music and admired his dignified approach to life. Though our friendship was all too brief and I was never able to meet him, Jay will always live in my heart.
