Obituary of George David Powers

George D Powers, age 75, of Fort Atkinson, WI passed away on Monday, July 21, 2014 at his home. George was loved by so many. His passions where cutting wood, fishing for that prize salmon with his wife Rose in Port Washington, hunting and of course his Western movies. He enjoyed coffee with his (band of brothers) each morning to solve the world�s problems. George was born in Milton, Wisconsin on September 23rd, 1938 the son of Margaret Dabson and Step Father Charles. On April 8th, 1982 he married the love of his life Rose. George worked for Melster Candy Company for over 25 years. George also worked for Oakland Township for many years. Surviving are: Wife: Rose Powers, Fort Atkinson, WI, Children: Sheila (Timm) Breitkreutz, Jefferson, WI, and Vickie Nichols, Lodi, WI. Grandchildren: Cady and Lucas Breitkreutz, Jefferson, WI. and Zachary, Lauren and Paige Nichols, Lodi, WI and two Sisters, Hazel (Ron) Wolf and Sue Denio of Janesville, WI. George was preceded in death by his Mother Margaret (Charles) Dabson, brothers Harold Powers, Jerry Powers, Joe Dabson and step sister in law Dorothy Powers. Rose and her family would like to acknowledge and thank the special friends in the neighborhood for all the love and support over the years. A celebration of life gathering will be held at a later date to be announced. The family would like to express their greatest thank you to Agrace Hospice for all their support and wonderful caring of our beloved Papa.
