Obituary of Carlos Alvarez

Carlos Alvarez, age 75, of Jefferson, Wisconsin, went home to His savior on Friday, Sept. 18 in his home surrounded by his wife, Susan, and loved ones, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Galesville, Wisconsin on October 19, 1939 to the late Dr. Ricardo and Hazel (Wanless) Alvarez, Carlos was the fourth of eight children. At a young age, as Carlos often recalled to loved ones, he asked the Lord for a family and never did he imagine how the Lord would provide! After marrying Susan (Skemp) on June 17, 1961, he became father of seven, Renee (Ron) Klein, Maria (Dave) Kretschmann, Nanita (Todd) Marksberry, Karisa (Chip) Friske, Tanya (David) Westrick, Dominic (Ashley) Alvarez and Ricky (Dave)Smith. The Lord has continued to answer his prayer with 27 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Carlos was a passionate biology teacher for the Watertown Unified School District for 32 years, an avid golfer who'd love to retell each hole's shots during his retirement years, and loved sailing. But above all else, he was a tremendous husband, father, brother, grandfather, and great grandfather who loved His Lord and his joy came from spending time with the family the Lord blessed him with. At Carlos' request, the family will be having a private celebration for immediate family only. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to your local Meals on Wheels, or Compassion International. The family would also like to thank Rainbow Hospice for their support and care. The Nitardy Funeral Home, Fort Atkinson, WI, assisted the family.
