Dear JoAnn, Julie, Cindy and families - I am deeply and truly sorry to hear of Mark's passing and the lateness of this message. Having moved from the area so long ago now, I had lost track of many of you, Mark included. Although I only met Mark after his accident, I will never forget the infectious smile that he had, or the way he would give a good ribbing as well as he would take one, when we were all together. My family and I will keep you all in our prayers during this very difficult time.

My thought and prayers are with your family. I was privileged to take care of Mark in Tucson. I have known him for the past 3 years. Last year, he let me write my paper for nursing school on him and I enjoyed getting to know him. I learned so much about him and his perseverance that day! He never let anything stop him. I respect him for his strength and his tenacity to take care of himself. He loved his family but he loved his independence in Tucson. I will never forget him and he will always remain in my heart. He was a special person. He definitely will be missed in Tucson!

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you
didn't do than by the ones you did. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away
from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream.
by Mark Twain
Mark lived his life well. He explored; he dreamed. He gave to all of us a good example of how to live life. What a gift. Tomorrow everyone will get to celebrate that gift, that life. Memories will be shared, and tears will be shared. Everyone will come away from tomorrow with a little bit more of Mark in their hearts. He will live on in all of us forever. We will continue to hold the Williams family in our prayers. God's peace to you all. Love, Debbe & Mike

Hello! I saw Mark many times as a student at UW-Whitewater where I worked during his time as a student. He came into my office many times with questions and I had many long talks with him. He was a joy and always brightened my days as I knew if he could be so positive with all of his difficult times, that anything I may have to worry about was very minor. His smile was very contagious and brightened many of my days. I saw many students during my time at UW-Whitewater and many times wondered what had happened to Mark. I am so saddened to hear his brief life is over but know that he has left many fond memories and many people are saddened by his death. May you only have fond memories of Mark and only smile when you think of him, as I know he would want it. My sympathy goes out to his family. sincerely, marian kohler
