Obituary of Mark Allan Williams

Mark Williams, age 48 of Tucson, Arizona died unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 23, 2010. Mark was in a car accident in 1979 which left him a quadriplegic. He graduated from Cambridge High School in 1980, and was a member of the 1979 state championship football team. Mark�s perseverance allowed him to graduate high school with his class and to then earn his Bachelors degree from UW-Whitewater in 1987. He went on to work as a sports reporter for the Janesville Gazette. In 1988, Mark moved to Tucson. Though the move forced Mark to be far away from family and friends, it allowed him to live in a more suitable climate and helped with his quality of life. Even though he lived away from Wisconsin, he remained an avid Packer and Badger fan. He also never missed a Nascar Race on TV. Through the years Mark had many physically devastating challenges, but his spirit and faith always carried him through. Mark is survived by his mother JoAnn, two sisters: Julie (Jeff) Roe of Whitewater, Cindy (Brian) Jacobson of Orfordville. He is further survived by nephews and nieces: Tyler and Stephanie Jacobson, and Brandon Roe, grandmother June Williams, and many friends who cared and helped him in so many ways. Preceded in death by his father Jack, infant brother David, grandfather Ronald Williams, and grandmother Arlene Pugh A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, July 10, 2010 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Fort Atkinson with Father Jay Poster celebrating. Inurnment will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Fort Atkinson, WI. Friends may call after 9:00AM on Saturday at the church until the Mass.
