Obituary of Doris Baie-Ruth

Ruth Doris Baie, age 89,of Fort Atkinson, WI passed away on Thursday, February 16, 2012 at Our House Assisted Living in Cambridge, Wisconsin. Ruth was born in rural New Hampshire on March 25, 1922 the daughter of Elmer and Dora (Elliott) Melvin. She graduated from Clinton High School in Clinton, MA. Ruth married Howard Olson and later married Enos Baie. She moved to Fort Atkinson in 1955 with her family and worked at Fort Memorial Hospital as a respiratory therapist until her retirement in 1987. Ruth was a longtime and active member of Friedens Untied Methodist Church, and recently was a member of Grace United Church. She also enjoyed card club, crocheting, knitting, trivia, and was a member of MATC Homemakers Club. During her retirement Ruth maintained relationships with other hospital retirees, and volunteered at the Thrift Shop. Survivors include: Son - John (Candy) Olson, Fort Atkinson, WI Daughter - Carol (Jack) Huber, Cambridge, WI Grandchild - Bob (Caryl) Deutsch, Johnson Creek, WI 2 Great Grand Child - Raven and Andrew Deutsch, Johnson Creek, WI Step-Daughter - Lorraine (Art) Fields, Waterman, IL Step-Daughter - Vicki (Jim) Yerke, New Lisbon, WI Step-Grand - Pamela (Matthew) Reed, St. Petersburg, FL Step-Great Grand - Julia Grace and Fischer Matthew Reed, St. Petersburg, FL Sister - Edith Konan, Bellview, FL Sister - Bonnie Konan, Clinton, MA Sister-in-law - Florence Olson, Stoughton, WI Special Friends - Barb and her son Miguel Heitzler, Fort Atkinson, WI Ruth was preceded in death by 2 grandsons: Daniel and David Deutsch, and Siblings: Caldwell, Pheobe, Gloria, and Calvin. Memorials may be given to Grace United Church, 1631 Janesville Ave, Fort Atkinson 53538, in her name. Private Family Graveside services were held. The family extends a special thank you to Our House Assisted Living in Cambridge and Rainbow Hospice.
