Obituary of Gordon E. Gottschalk

Gordon E. Gottschalk, 69, Cambridge passed away on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at his home.

Gordon was born on March 28, 1949 in Madison, WI to Osuld and Eileen (Bennett) Gottschalk.  He graduated from Deerfield High School in 1967.  Gordon served his country in the Army from 1968-1969 in the Vietnam War.  He married Linda Heinen on August 2, 1975 in Cambridge, WI.  Gordon worked for Thorstad Chevrolet for 25 years as a mechanic before taking a position at General Motors in Janesville.  He also farmed in his spare time.  Gordon enjoyed his Corvettes and showing them at local car shows, his chow dog and spending time with his family and friends. 

He is survived by his wife Linda; children Sara (Kyle) Rogers, Sun Praire; Matt (Michelle) Gottschalk, Fort Atkinson, Michael (Randi) Gottschalk, Cambridge; grandchildren Alyssa, Ellie and William Gottschalk, Ava and Aedan Rogers; sisters Cheryl (Bob) Magnussen, Lake Mills, Bonnie (Jeff) Carlson, Deerfield; aunts Marcella Janney, Tomah, WI, Norma Gottschalk, Florida; many cousins, nieces and nephews and many friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral Services with military rites will be held on Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at 11:00am at Deerfield Lutheran Church, 206 S. Main St., Deerfield, WI.  A visitation will be held on Tuesday from 9:30am until the time of the service.  As an expression of sympathy you may wish to consider memorials to Jefferson County Humane Society, Cambridge and Deerfield Food Pantries.  The family would like to thank Cambridge EMS and Fire Department for your efforts and the caring staff at the VA Hospital.
