Obituary of June Carol Thompson

June Carol Thompson, 83, Fort Atkinson passed away on Friday, April 20, 2018 at Agrace Hospice Inpatient Center in Janesville, WI.

June was born on January 31, 1935 in Viroqua, WI to Henry and Edith (Thompson) Jensen.  She graduated from Viroqua High School in 1953.  She married Tonny Burik in 1954 in Viroqua.  He passed away in 1996.  She married her high school sweetheart, Paul Thompson on May 21, 1990.  He preceded her in death in 2013.  June worked for the University of Wisconsin Madison and UW-Parkside in their food service.  She was a member of the VFW auxiliary, and the polka boosters.  She loved to read and the family get-togethers.  She was an avid bowler.  She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

She is survived by her children Randy (Marcy) Burik, Madison, Kathryn (Cal) Beecher, Madison; grandchildren Heather and  Heath Beecher, Hillary (Zach) Blair, Danielle Burik, Lyndsay S, Jennifer Roberts, Jamie Burik, James and Jamie Hammill; 17 great-grandchildren;  1 great-great granddaughter; Siblings Harlan (Hannah) Jensen, Kent OH, Marvin (Joleen) Jensen, Turtle Lake, WI, Robert (Sheila) Jensen, Rockton, WI, Betty (Doug) Ebert, Janesville, WI, Mary (Verlyn) Dahl, Viroqua, WI, Ken (Ruth) Jensen, Florida, Donna (Gary) Koopman, Onalaska, WI

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Tonny and Paul; Sons John and James; daughter, Sherry and her brothers Duane, David and Kelly.

A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, April 30, 2018 at 11:00am at the Nitardy Funeral Home, 1008 Madison Ave., Fort Atkinson, WI 53538.  Burial will follow at the Evergreen Cemetery.  Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 10:00am until the time of the service.
