Obituary of Richard Glombowski

Richard Reinhold Glombowski, 81, Milton, WI, passed away on Wednesday, July 19, 2023, at Sienna Crest Memory Care in Fort Atkinson, WI.

 

Richard was born on December 12, 1941, in southern Saskatchewan, Canada to Rudolph and Ida (Somerfeld) Glombowski. He received his education in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, Canada. 

On May 28, 1966, Richard married Ruth Blager in Moose Jaw. 

 

Richard had many career experiences in his life. Before he met Ruth he worked for the government in Ontario, Canada, and then was a radio operator at the North Pole for several months. After getting married, he ran the heart/lung machine at a hospital in Regina, SK, and then they moved around the U.S.A. preparing for the missionary work they did in Brazil. Later he spent a year fixing the CAT scanner at a hospital in Saskatoon, SK. He also taught electronics engineering at STI in Moose Jaw, SK. For many years after that he worked at Sask Power doing several different jobs, including running a hydro electric dam in northern Saskatchewan. He and Ruth moved to Wisconsin in 1996, where he designed wall panels for a living.

 

His had many hobbies and experiences throughout his life, including designing and building homes, and could do most anything he put his mind to. 

 

Richard and Ruth moved to Milton in 2019, after living in Whitewater for 14 years and various cities all over the world before that. They were members of Faith Community Church in Fort Atkinson.

 

He is survived by his daughters Michele Unger, Milton, and Jaclyn Engele, Whitewater; grandchildren Bree and Emma Unger, and Holland and Anais Engele. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Ewald and sister Erna, and his wife Ruth, who passed away from cancer in 2021.
