Obituary of William Paxson
William Paxson, 80, Lake Mills, formerly of Cambridge passed away on Wednesday, July 12, 2023, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison.
I was born in Lambertville, New Jersey on September 12, 1942, son of Robert F. and Mary T. (Logan) Paxson. I grew up in Bucks County, PA, more specifically, Doylestown, PA. I graduated from Council Rock High School in Newtown, PA, although I attended Central Bucks (West) through my junior year. In seventh grade, I took an interest in printing and spent my entire career in that field. I joined the Air Force in 1961 and spent most of my time at Truax Field in Madison where I met Maxine Behm from Cambridge, WI. She was the daughter of Lewis and Julia (Vasby) Behm. We were married on June 8, 1963. Upon my discharge from the Air Force, I worked at Perry Printing for 33 years until I had some heart problems. After a year off recuperating, I went to work for 6 years for Quick Quality Press which later became Think Ink and Design. After a year of retirement, I got bored and went to work for Thysse Printing in 2011. I loved that job and the people so much that I retired from there twice. Following my last retirement, Maxine and I started RVing and bought a park model home in Phoenix, AZ and have spent the past 5 winters in the Desert Shadows RV Resort.
I have been a member of the Model A Restorer’s Club since 1964 and the Model A Ford Club of America for 30 years, the Wisconsin Region MARC since 1964. I was also a member of the Red Wing Collector’s Society and Collector of Illinois Pottery and Stoneware.
I was proceeded in death by my parents, brothers Robert F. Paxson Jr and John Charles Paxson. I am survived by my wife, Maxine; children Todd (Karen) Paxson, Cambridge and Tammy (Andy) Forsythe, Windsor, WI; grandchildren Christian and Hanna Paxson; great-granddaughter Mara Rae Morris; sister Mary Keenan, South Carolina; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
