Obituary of Dan Hughes Jr.

Daniel Scott “Dan” Hughes Jr., 41 of Sullivan passed away on Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Milwaukee surrounded by his loving family. 

Dan was born on June 24, 1981 in Waukesha to Daniel Scott Hughes Sr. and Sue Thompson.  He graduated from Jefferson high school in 1999.  Dan worked in manufacturing most of his life and most recently as purchase manager at Axis Automation.

Dan loved spending time with his daughters, Nola and Evy.  His passion for music was a big part of his life.  Dan enjoyed writing, playing, and singing songs and was a part of various bands and with friends.  He was a sports enthusiast and enjoyed watching the Packers.

He is survived by his parents, John and Sue Thompson; wife, Jessica Hughes; daughters, Nola Hughes and Evy Hughes; siblings, John (Brenda) Thompson, Carrie Mindemann, Mathew (Brittany) Thompson; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

Dan is preceded in death by his father, Daniel Hughes Sr.; grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A memorial service will take place at 6PM on Monday, November 7, 2022 at Nitardy Funeral Home in Fort Atkinson.  A visitation will take place from 4PM until the time of service. 

Dan gave the gift of life through organ donation.

The family would like to give special thanks to the emergency responders, staff at Axis Automation, St. Luke’s, and Aurora Summit Hospital for their exceptional care for Dan.  The family would like to give special thanks to friends and family who have supported them through this devastating loss.
