Obituary of Arlene Mae

Arlene "Slim" Procknow, age 81, of Cambridge, Wisconsin, passed away on Sunday, February 24, 2013, at Autumn Winds of Oakland in Cambridge, WI. Arlene was born on January 17, 1932, the daughter of Sadolf and Margaret (Berge) Hagen. She graduated as valedictorian at Cambridge High School. On July 5, 1951, Arlene married Jerald George Procknow. As beloved wife and lifetime companion, Arlene worked alongside her husband as the bookkeeper at London Lumber for over 30 years. She was an active member of Grace Lutheran Church in Cambridge and the Lake Ripley Country Club. She was an avid bridge player with her friends and also enjoyed golfing, sewing, and cooking. Arlene, always with a smile on her face and a positive attitude, used this outlook on life to endure a many year battle with multiple sclerosis. She was a woman of great determination and she held her family very near and dear to her. Surviving are: two daughters: Vicki (Fred) Roth, Allenton, WI, and Leeann Lowell, Cambridge, WI, Grandchildren: Jake (Katie) Lowell, Rachel (Jorge) Lowell-Almanza, and Ben (Brooke) Roth, Great-grandchildren: Danny, Lana, Benjamin, and Caroline, Sister: Shirley (Jerry Denniss) Johnson, Middleton, WI, and Brother: Gerald Hagen, Middleton, WI. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Arlene was preceded in death by her parents, her husband George, and her sister Janet Smithback. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the caring staff of Rainbow Hospice and Autumn Winds. Per Arlene's Wishes, Private Family Services will be held. Interment will be in Lake Ripley Cemetery, Town of Oakland, Wisconsin. The Nitardy Funeral Home, Cambridge, Wisconsin is assisting the family.
