Obituary of Clyde Hugo Frey

Clyde "Bud" Hugo Frey, age 80, of Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin, passed away on Monday, March 11, 2013, at his home. Clyde was born in Cambridge, Wisconsin on November 16, 1932, the son of Hugo and Manda (Anderson) Frey. He was a resident of the Fort Atkinson/Cambridge area his entire life. Clyde served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He worked for 38 years at the Larson Canning Company in Fort Atkinson, retiring in 1995. Clyde then worked for 4 years at K-Mart in Fort Atkinson. On January 9, 1953, Clyde married Gloria Jean Bergholtz in Cambridge, Wisconsin. Clyde was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Cambridge and the American Legion. He enjoyed puzzles, going to the race track in Jefferson, short trips, going to the casino, and could fix just about everthing. Surviving are his wife: Gloria Frey, children: Debra (Tom) Smothers, Fort Atkinson, WI, and Jerry (Michelle) Frey, Cambridge, WI, grandchildren: Michael (Erin) Smothers, Matthew (Sheena) Smothers, and Christopher (Jessica) Smothers, great-grandchildren: Evan, Gavin, Iven, and Aden Smothers, and a sister-in-law: Joanne Frey, Grayslake, IL. Clyde was preceded in death by his parents, and three brothers: LaVerne, Dale, and Ronald, and a son Danny. Funeral Services will be held at Grace Lutheran Church, Cambridge, WI at 11:00 AM, Friday, March 15, 2013, with Rev. Dan Dibbert officiating. Interment will be at Lake Ripley Cemetery, Town of Oakland, WI. The Nitardy Funeral Home, Cambridge is assisting the family.
