Obituary of Diane Sue Simdon

Diane Sue Simdon, 68 of Jefferson, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at Fort Atkinson Hospital. Diane was born September 4, 1944 and grew up in Jefferson. She moved to Cambridge in 1967 and raised her four children. Amy (Robert) Kilburg, Donna Hamre, Tammy (Mike) Dain and Harvey-Dooner (Barb) Simdon. Her family grew to include many grandchildren, Ashley (Henry) Furseth, Robbie Robinson, James Austin, Jeremy (Korinna) Austin, Matt Connery, Collin Connery, Nick Simdon, Korbin Simdon and many great grandchildren Isaiah Long, Tanner Furseth, Aiden Austin, Kaleb Nelson and several nieces and nephews. After 25 years, Diane retired as an LPN for the State of WI. She worked at Mendota Mental Health Institute on the Children�s unit. True to her hard working and always generous heart she mothered both her own children and anyone else that came into her life. Diane lived her life with a positive attitude, always wanting to help others. She was a strong determined woman who was most often found having fun, laughing and telling jokes. She was very passionate about music from church hymns to Johnny Cash. She was a huge fan of her Green Bay Packers. She will be deeply missed by all. Diane is survived by Fianc� Lowell (Butch) Nelson, sisters, Carol (Sonny) Tetting, Judy Courtier, Donna (Harley) Dorn, Sally (Lloyd) Erdman; and Brother Jim (Glenda) Courtier. She was preceded in death by her mother, Margie Leedle, her fathers, Maurice Courtier & Joseph Leedle and sister Mary Jo Stasch. To honor her requests there will be a celebration of her life gathering at Rockdale Bar (Heather�s) on April 27, 2013 from 1-5pm. Food, drink and music by Cherokee will be provided. The Nitardy Funeral Home is assisting the family with a private family burial at Evergreen Cemetery. Diane was a long time member of the Presbyterian Church in Cambridge. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider a donation to the Cambridge food pantry.
