Obituary of William John Rutherford

William John Rutherford, age 44, of Madison, WI passed away on Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at his home. William was born in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin on March 26, 1969, the son of William and Joan (Rennie) Rutherford. He graduated from Fort Atkinson High School in 1987, attended UW-Madison for 3 years and received a bachelor's degree in Economics from UW-Green Bay. William served his Country in the U.S. Navy for four years, graduating top of his class at Great Lakes Naval Academy. He served at Camp Pendelton Marine Base in California. William was employed as the manager at the Stone Ridge Apartments in Madison, WI. William enjoyed playing and following soccer, and was a Green Bay Packer fan. Surviving are: mother: Joan Rutherford, Fort Atkinson, WI, two brothers: David (Lisa) Rutherford, Amherst, MA and James "Jamie" (Shawn) Rutherford, Fort Atkinson, WI, son and daughter: William and Martha Rutherford, aunts, uncles, and cousins in Scotland and Canada, and nieces and nephews in Fort Atkinson and Amherst, MA. William was preceded in death by his father William, and grandparents: Mr. and Mrs. William John Rennie and Mr. and Mrs. Peter Rutherford. Memorial Services will be held Friday, April 5, 2013, at 10:00 AM at the Nitardy Funeral Home Chapel, 1008 Madison Ave., Fort Atkinson, WI with Rev. Chris Buckingham-Taylor officiating. A memorial fund in William's name has been established at the Johnson Bank for his children.
