Obituary of Shirley M. McIntyre

Shirley M. McIntyre, age 83, of Whitewater, WI passed away on Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at her home. Shirley was born in Chicago, Illinois on May 14, 1930, the daughter of Maxwell and Margaret (Siedel) Voderberg, She graduated from Senn High School in Chicago, Illinois. Shirley worked at Illinois Bell where she met her future husband, Duncan Reid McIntyre, Jr. The couple were married on November 3, 1951 in Chicago, Illinois. Duncan preceded her in death on August 15, 2012. Shirley was an active member of the Telephone Pioneers, volunteered at the Hine Veterans Hospital in Maywood, Illinois, and enjoyed working with ceramics. Surviving are: Two Sons: Don (Marcia) McIntyre, Mundelein, IL and Bill (Mary Beth) McIntyre, Cincinnati, OH, Grandchildren: Laura (Brett) Plazek, Sioux City, IA, Steven McIntyre, Mundelein, IL, Thomas McIntyre, Cincinnati, OH, and Anne Marie McIntyre, Cincinnati, OH, and Sister: Betty Lou Kirsten, Northfield, IL. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Duncan, a son Jim, a brother Kurt Voderberg, and a sister-in-law Sophie Voderberg. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, May 18, 2013, at 3:00 PM at the Nitardy Funeral Home Chapel, 550 N. Newcomb Street, Whitewater,WI with Rev. Jerald Wendt officiating. Friends may call after 1:00PM on Saturday, May 18, 2013 at the Nitardy Funeral Home, Whitewater until the time of the services.
