Blankenship, Winson C. �Dutch��Of Whitewater, entered into eternal life May 30, 2013 at the age of 87. Preceded in death by his parents Oliver and Esther, brother Donald and son-in-law Sammy. Beloved husband of Elizabeth, loving father of Joyce of Blue Springs, MO, Richard (Nancy) of Waukesha, Sarah Maher (Charles) of Naperville, IL, and Susan Kremer (Christopher) of Harvard, IL. Loving grandfather of Jeffery (Julie). Scott, Karen (William), Kathryn, Nicole (Joshua), Matthew, Lauren, Michael and Noelle; and great-grandfather of Sammie Lee. �He will be fondly remembered by his step-granddaughters; Heather (Justin), Holly (Kevin), Kellie and their children. He was born on August 4, 1925 in Camden County, Missouri. He served in the United States Navy during World War II from 1942-46. He graduated from Missouri Valley College, and received a master�s degree from Emporia State Teachers College in Kansas. He received a Doctorate in Education from OklahomaStateUniversity. He was a professor at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater for 25 years until his retirement in 1989. He was active in St. Luke�s Episcopal Church in Whitewater, various state educational societies, and the Masonic Lodge. He served as a counselor for Alcoholics Anonymous and was an avid motorcycle rider, teaching motorcycle safety courses for many years in Janesville. Visitation at the Nitardy Funeral Home, 550 N. Newcomb Street, Whitewater, Wisconsin on Thursday, June 6, 2013 from 1:00-2:30, followed by a memorial service. Memorial donations in the name of Dutch Blankenship can be made to St. Luke�s Episcopal Church, University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, or Fairhaven Senior Services.   www.nitardyfuneralhome.com
