Obituary of James Lee Picknell

James Lee Picknell, age 50, of Whitewater, WI passed away on Saturday, June 1, 2013 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born February 12, 1963 in Mount Clemens, MI to Harry and Darlene (Grasley) Picknell. James graduated from Delavan High School in 1981. He married Shelly Downs on August 25, 1990 at the First English Lutheran Church in Whitewater, WI. James worked at Super Value, Sentry and Wal-Mart as a Grocery Manager. He was a member of the South Central Wisc-Janesville H.O.G.( Harley Owners Group) Chapter, MDA fundraising and the MDA Tub Run committee member for 7 years. James enjoyed fishing, hunting, working on cars and bikes, but most of all playing and spending time with his grandchildren. Surviving are: Wife: Shelly (Downs) Picknell; daughters: Daneilia (Jamie) Frenzel of Delavan, Ariel (Chris Allford) Picknell; son: Lyle (Justina Petitt) Downs of Whitewater. Grandchildren; Talon, McKenzie, Adelynn, and Emma He is further survived his sisters; Robin (Walter) Jacobson, Tampa FL, Annalee (Elliott) DeMerell, Greensboro N.C., brothers, Kurtis (Catherine) Picknell, Elkhorn and Mark Picknell Canyon Creek, MN Funeral Services will be held at CrossPointe Community Church, Whitewater, WI on Saturday, June 8, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. with Ryan Koenig officiating. Burial will be at Hillside Cemetery following the service . Visitation will be at the Nitardy Funeral Home, 550 N. Newcomb St. Whitewater, WI on Friday, June 7. 2013 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Saturday, June 8 from 10:00 a.m. until time of services Memorials may be made to the family.
