Obituary of Ellen Ruth Gerondale

Ellen Ruth Gerondale, age 76, passed away on Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at the Aurora Medical Center. Ellen was born on April 11th, 1937 in Jefferson, Wisconsin. She was the daughter of Raymond and Evelyn (Hans) Guttenberg and graduated from Jefferson High School in 1955. A few years later, she married James Gerondale on Oct. 5th, 1957. Jim preceded her in death on November 22, 1983. Ellen and Jim owned and operated Gerondale Oil Company for many years in Fort Atkinson. Ellen retired in 1998 when the family company was sold. Ellen was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Fort Atkinson and she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her five grandchildren. Surviving are two sons: Tom (Sherry) Gerondale and Todd (Lisa) Gerondale, all from Fort Atkinson. Grandchildren include: Michael, Rachael, Nicholas, Nathan, and Jack, Brother: Gene (Joan) Guttenberg, Sheboygan, WI, and Sister: Jane Wedl, Jefferson, WI. Ellen was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. Per Ellen's wishes, a private family burial will be held. The Nitardy Funeral Home, Fort Atkinson, WI is assisting the family.
