Obituary of Robert E. Comstock

Robert E. Comstock January 25, 1940 - July 31, 2013 Whitewater, WI- Robert Comstock was born to the late Edwin and Lillian Comstock of Dousman on January 25, 1940, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He passed away at St. Luke's Hospital in Milwaukee on July 31, 2013, following heart surgery. A beloved husband, treasured father, supportive brother and cherished friend, Bob will be missed by so many. Bob graduated from the University of Wisconsin and enjoyed a long and successful career in the transportation industry working for many years at the Heil Company in Milwaukee followed by Stuart Tank Sales in Elkhorn until his retirement in 2006. Bob found joy in so many ways; he loved landscaping and gardening, the nature and wildlife, days spent fishing, and being an adored grandfather and wonderful friend. Some of his greatest pleasures included his anniversary trips with his wife Nancy and time spent with his friends and family. Bob had a deep faith in God and had recently been involved in starting a local church called Living Word Fellowship of Whitewater, where he felt he could best share his faith with others. Bob was a man who effortlessly made those around him feel special in his presence; he reaped what he sewed, whether through the flowers he planted in his garden or through the time and attention he spent with his family and friends. His devotion and love will be felt for a long time.   Bob is survived by his loving wife Nancy, two children, Sarah (Glenn) Comstock Perachio and Katherine (Thomas) Comstock Vornhagen, as well as two grandsons Carson and Connor, all of whom adored him. He is also survived by sisters Patricia Griswold and Jean French, brother John "Jack" Comstock, and several nieces and nephews.   Visitation will be held on Friday, August 9th from 4-8PM at the Nitardy Funeral Home, 550 N. Newcomb Street, Whitewater, and on Saturday at 10AM at Living Word Fellowship, 212 W. Main Street, Whitewater. A service of celebration will follow at 11AM. In lieu of flowers, Bob's family has suggested donations be made to Living Word Fellowship or a charity of your choice.
