Obituary of LaVonne Mae Brotzman

LaVonne Brotzman, age 84, of Whitewater, passed away on Friday, August 9, 2013 at Holton Manor in Elkhorn. She was born on December 10, 1928 in Elizabeth, IL to Vern and Isa Mae (Morris) Lisk. LaVonne married her loving husband, Lloyd C. Brotzman on June 4, 1946 in Galena, IL. In 1964 they moved to Whitewater, where they raised their 12 children. LaVonne and Lloyd enjoyed working together on their small farmette and for a time they ran and owned the Whitewater Sports and Tackle. LaVonne was the voice on the answering service of the Whitewater Veterinary Clinic for 25 years, and loved her job and those who she worked with. She had many hobbies through the years, like collecting salt and pepper shakers, dolls, and stuffed animals. But most of all she loved rummage sales. She had many challenges in her life, but she met them with strength and courage. Surviving are 2 daughters and 5 sons: Shirley (Roger) Trewyn, Whitewater; Nancy (Donald) Pearson, Kentwood, LA; Robert (Melody) Brotzman, Janesville; Dennis (Cindy) Brotzman, Janesville, WI; Tim (Debra) Brotzman , Washington, IN; Lloyd Brotzman, Jr., Louisville, IL; Dale (Lynn) Brotzman, Whitewater; 40 grandchildren, 68 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Brotzman Sr.; 4 daughters: Sally Ramirez, Joyce Mitchell Blutcher, Jean Luecke, and Jane Nigh; and son: James Brotzman. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at 11am at the Nitardy Funeral Home Chapel, Whitewater, WI. Visitation will be from 9am until the time of service at the funeral home.
