After retirement, Bill worked for Jerry Kutz driving funeral coach for 10 years. He was an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Second Harvest, Fishing Has No Boundaries, and a past member of the Fort Atkinson Lions Club. Bill leaves behind his wife of 59 years, Janet (Spiegelhoff) Lasch of Fort Atkinson; children, Joe (Irene) Lasch of Lake Mills, Barb Gaddo of Bloomington, MN, Doug Lasch of Evanston, IL, and Teri (Richard) Dary of Waupun; grandchildren, Brenda Lasch, John (Denise) Gaddo, Tony (Corrine) Gaddo, Sera Gaddo, Alissa Lasch, Kristen Lasch, Cam Dary, and Ross Dary; greatgrandchildren, Liliana Gaddo and John Dean Gaddo; sister, Dorothy Goodavish; brother-in-law, Jim (LuAnn) Spiegelhoff; sister-in-law, Judy (Bob) Morrow; and numerous nieces and nephews. Family and friends appreciated Bill for his quiet sense of humor that kept the laughter flowing. Dubbed George by his grandchildren in their routine exchanges, Bill found so many touching ways to nurture strong family relationships. Through his loving ways, he was a source of strength, inspiration, and support for many. Bill shared his love of fishing, hunting, and golfing with his family at any opportunity. His Canadian fishing trips with friends held an extra-special spot in his heart. Bill loved to travel and was always ready to visit a new destination both in and outside the country. Birds that visited his yard never left hungry, as he spent many hours filling his various feeders and watching the wildlife that frequented his yard.
