Obituary of Raymond William Henschel

Raymond William Henschel, 75, Whitewater, Wisconsin, took his final journey home on Sunday, November 10, 2013 at Golden Living Center, Fort Atkinson, WI. Ray was born on July 7, 1938 in Elkhorn, WI to Carl and Mabel (Smith) Henschel. He married Helen Mueller on October 19, 1958 in Whitewater, WI. Ray, along with his father, owned and operated Whitewater Heating Service. He was also employed for over 20 years as a custodian for the Whitewater Unified School District. Ray enjoyed watching NASCAR racing, snowmobiling, trips up north, and an occasional pull of the slot machines. Ray is survived by his wife, Helen of Whitewater, Children; Larry (Colleen) Henschel, Whitewater, Gail Wellnitz, Whitewater, Patty (David) Luther, Whitewater, Karen (David Vohs) Olds, Fort Atkinson, Grandchildren; Mike, Kayla (Justin), Courtney (Colton), Heidi (Andy), Paula (Joe), Elissa (Jon), Hannah, Cameron, Tyler (Tess), Jeff (Jaime), Nicki (Manuel), Emily, Chad, Mother-in-Law, Margaret Mueller of Evansville, WI and six great-grandchildren with a seventh one on the way. Memorial Services will be held on Thursday, November 14, 2013 at 11:00am at the Nitardy Funeral Home, 550 N. Newcomb St., Whitewater, WI. with Rev. Steven Hanson officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 9:30am until the time of the service. After the service the family will host a luncheon at Blackhawk Manor, 1155 W Blackhawk Drive, Whitewater, WI. A private burial will take place in the Clinton Cemetery, Clinton, Wisconsin. As an expression of sympathy, you may wish to consider memorials to the Whitewater Food Pantry or to Jefferson Alzheimer's Association. The family would like to thank the staff at Golden Living Center, Fort Atkinson for their excellent care and Agrace Hospice for their support during his final hours.
