Obituary of Harvey Richard Gudeyon

Harvey Richard Gudeyon, age 95, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at his home in Whitewater, Wisconsin. He was born on January 10, 1918, the son of Richard and Mabel (Barker) Gudeyon, and lived on the family farm from infancy until 2006. Harvey married his sweetheart, Gladys Porter, on February 9, 1944. They raised three children and farmed in Richmond until retiring and moving to Whitewater in 2006. Harvey dearly loved his family, farming, dancing, and his church. He was a member of the Richmond United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife Gladie, of nearly 70 years; son, Richard (Karen) of Richmond; daughter, Kathleen (Donald) Klemp of Waterloo; daughter, Joyce (Bruce) Traxler of Whitewater; 8 grandchildren; and 8 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Elsie Schoenbeck of Whitewater, as well as many nieces and nephews. Harvey was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Schultz, and brothers Ralph and Leslie Gudeyon. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00AM on Friday, November 22, 2013 at the Richmond United Methodist Church in Richmond, Wisconsin with Rev. Kimberly Brumm officiating. Interment will be in the Richmond Cemetery, Richmond, WI. Friends may call from 4-6PM on Thursday, November 21, 2013 at the Nitardy Funeral Home, Whitewater, WI and after 10AM on Friday, November 22, 2013 at the church until the time of the services. Memorials may be given to the Richmond United Methodist Church or to Rainbow Hospice of Jefferson, WI. The family would like to thank the staff at Rainbow Hospice for their loving care and support.
