Obituary of Marvin V. Drays

Marvin V. "Heavy Duty" Drays, age 78, of Whitewater, WI passed away on Friday, November 22, 2013 at his home. Marvin was born on February 12, 1935 to William and Lydia (Stork) Drays.� He married Carol Boyd on August 20, 1953. Carol preceded him in death on August 25, 2005. Marv had to leave school as a young man to become a full time farmer. He stayed farming until he went to work for Mann Bros, where he worked hauling heavy equipment for 32 years before his retirement in 2000. He was a person who was always willing to help others. Marv dedicated himself to work and family. Marv loved his family and spending time with them was one of the most important things in his life. He adored his grandchildren, and enjoyed his dog, Buddy. Marv liked collecting anything that was John Deere. He also had a great time making his rounds each day on his Kabota around the family compound. Surviving are: Daughter - Tammie (Bob) Jacobs, Weyerhaeuser, WI, Son - Kevin (Cherie) Drays, Whitewater, WI, Daughter - Colleen (Mark) Strelow, Whitewater, WI, Daughter - Dawn Rocha, Whitewater, WI, 7 Grandchildren - Bradley Drays, Jenny (Ryan) Stebnitz, Jeff (Nicole) Jacobs, Amanda Strelow, Evan Drays, Ian Drays, and Jessica Rocha, 3 Great Grandchildren - Danielle, Ella, & Ava, and 1 Sister - Shirley Sweno, Whitewater, WI He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, 2 Daughters- Stephanie and Debbie Drays, and Sister- Darlene Lee. Visitation will be at the Nitardy Funeral Home, Whitewater on Sunday December 1, 2013 from 3 to 6 pm, and on Monday from 10 am until time of services at the church. The family would like to invite those attending the visitation on Sunday to wear John Deere clothing in honor of Marv. Funeral Services will be held Monday, December 02, 2013, at 11:00 AM at the First United Methodist Church, 145 S. Prairie Street, Whitewater, WI 53190 with Rev. Kim Brumm officiating. Burial will be in the Hillside Cemetery, Whitewater, Wisconsin.
