Obituary of Helen M. Maas

Helen Maas, age 94, of Whitewater, WI passed away on Saturday, January 04, 2014 at the Fairhaven Nursing Home in Whitewater, WI. Helen was born in Heart Prairie, WI on July 7, 1919 to Christoph and Florence Koestler. She married Harold Maas on January 28, 1943. Helen is survived by her children: Herb (Renee) Maas, of Troy, MI; Eileen (John) Regan, of Madison; Mary Maas, of Stoughton; and Roberta Maas, of Fort Atkinson, three grandchildren: Justin Riedl, Chris Riedl, and Sean Regan, and two great grandchildren: Dylan Riedl and Kylie Riedl. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold and daughter, Janet (Rich) Riedl. Come and share memories in a celebration of life. Service will be held at Nitardy Funeral Home, Fort Atkinson on Sunday, January 12, at 1:30pm. Visitation will be on Sunday from 11:30am until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will follow on Monday at the Evergreen Cemetery, Fort Atkinson. Helen was proud of her children and had a great love for people, often inviting an alone person to join her for holiday dinners. Helen will always be loved and remembered for her quick wit and gratitude. A special thanks for the support and care given to Helen by the Fairhaven staff.
