Obituary of Craig Russell

Craig "Cajun" Russell Bardell, age 59, of Fort Atkinson, WI passed away on Sunday, March 2, 2014 at his home. Craig was born in Rockford, Illinois on November 21, 1954, the son of George and Eldora (Beckmeier) Bardell. Craig was a longtime resident of Fort Atkinson, WI. He worked for 28 years as a machinist at Hydro-Line in Rockford, Illinois and most recently as a welder at Seljan Company in Lake Mills, Wisconsin. Craig enjoyed watching Nascar races, go-kart racing with his son Nick, and Harley Davidson motorcycle riding. Surviving are: Sons: Paul (Tracy) Bardell, Rockford, IL and Nick Bardell, Fort Atkinson, WI, Aunt: Elnora Beckmeier, Freeport, IL, Former Wife: Vicky Daniels, Fort Atkinson, WI, Girlfriend: Laura Bowey, Jefferson, WI, and two Nephews: Brett (Dana) Hopkins of IL and Brian Hopkins of TN. Craig was preceded in death by his parents and sister Beverly. Funeral Services will be held Friday, March 7, 2014, at 6:00 PM at the Nitardy Funeral Home Chapel, 1008 Madison Ave., Fort Atkinson, WI with Rev. Russell Frees Jr. officiating. Interment will be in the Willwood Burial Park, Rockford, Illinois on Saturday, March 8, 2014 at 12PM. Friends may call after 4:00PM on Friday, March 7, 2014 at the Nitardy Funeral Home, Fort Atkinson, WI until the time of the services. Memorials may be made to Nick's racing fund.
