Obituary of Marjorie Evelyn Olson

Marjorie "Mudgie" Evelyn Olson, age 102,of Whitewater, WI passed away on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at Fairhaven in Whitewater, Wisconsin. Marjorie was born in Port Washington, Wisconsin on January 4, 1912, the daughter of Knute M. and Katie B. (Jenks) Erickson. Marjorie graduated in 1933 from the Michael Reese Hospital School of Nursing in Chicago, IL. She worked in Chicago and New York and valued her work and the many friends she made there. On July 13, 1942, Marjorie married the love of her life Roland E. Olson in Waukesha, Wisconsin. Roland preceded her in death on January 31, 2014. They had a long, truly happy marriage of 71 years. Marjorie was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Fort Atkinson, the Order of the Eastern Star Martha Chapter, and the alumni of the Michael Reese Hospital Nurses Association. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and spending summers at their cottage at Long Lake. Surviving are: Daughter: Kathryn N. (Shane Vondra) Olson, Poynette, WI, and many friends. Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. The Nitardy Funeral Home, Fort Atkinson, WI is assisting the family.
