Obituary of Richard Edward Schwall

A surprise to many, but not to the Lord, Richard "Dick" Edward Schwall, died from natural causes and passed to eternal life on Thursday, April 24, 2014. He was preceded in death on March 15, 2014 by his wife Norma. Richard was born in Evanston, Illinois on April 7, 1936, the son of William J. and Caroline (Weidner) Schwall. Dick graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force. Dick worked as a pilot for American Airlines for 32 years. On December 26, 1972, Dick married Norma (Combecker) Gorman. Dick was a member St. Patrick Catholic Church in Whitewater. Active member of the East Troy Lions Club and Past District 27-A1 Governor. He enjoyed aviation, agriculture, hunting, country music and puttering around the farm with his kids/grandkids. Surviving are: Children: Karen Lynne McGuire, Wonder Lake, IL, Karen Ann (Tom) Schwall-Meyer, Westminster, CO, Karla (Tom) Gilles, Poynette, WI, Sharon Bower, Greenville, WI, Kim (Todd) Seidl, Sun Prairie, WI, Richard "Bud" Schwall, Jr., Mukwonago, WI, and Matthew Schwall, Prescott, AZ, Grandchildren: Lindsay (Jacob) Clark, Shannon McGuire, Alicia Meyer, Ellen Meyer, Bradley Starks, Kyle Starks, Sara Bower, Hannah Bower, Kayleigh (Jon) Schmidt, and Nicholas Schwall, and Two brothers: William O. (Nancy "Sandy" ) Schwall, Round Rock, TX and David (Karen) Schwall, Mukwonago, WI. Dick was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Kenneth Schwall. A Mass Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, April 29, 2014, at 11:00 AM at the St. Patrick Catholic Church, 1225 W. Main Street, Whitewater, WI. Burial will be in the St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery, East Troy, Wisconsin. Friends may call after 10AM on Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at the church until the time of the Mass. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider a memorial to the Wisconsin Lion's Foundation or to the American Cancer Society. The Nitardy Funeral home, Whitewater is assisting the family.
