Marjorie Dudzek

Obituary of Marjorie Ellen Dudzek

Marjorie E. Dudzek, age 58, of Fort Atkinson, WI passed away on Friday, April 25, 2014 at her home. (Note: The following was dictated by Marj herself.) Most of the people I know and love have heard me say time and again that I am the luckiest, most loved and most blessed person of anyone who has ever walked the Earth. In fact many of them are rolling their eyes right now, but its true, and Ill explain why. Ive always felt Ive had a wonderful family, Mom and Dad (Audrey Hoekstra and Robert Bartz) taught us how to enjoy our lives, and my sister, brothers, and I did enjoy life. We lost Michael (Bartz) too young, but I think he felt the same. I think we are a fairly normal family as families go. Meeting John (Dudzek) at such a young age is so amazing; the fact that we are so happily married and have been for 40 years is wonderful. Our children have been a blessing from day one. Now Josh (Joshua Dudzek) is giving us another daughter (Georgien Walls) and two grandchildren (Faythe and Dawson Walls). When Anny (Anna-Theresa Dudzek) finds her true love, I will be looking down, but not in a creepy way. Most people dont have a good thing to say about their in-laws, but in my experience Ive been lucky to have such wonderful additions to my family. Donna and Ron (Braman), Debbie (Bartz), Patty (Patricia Bartz), and Rex (Greene) are more sisters and brother to me than in-laws. I love all of their children and grandchildren so much. I have been blessed by being godmother to some of them. I will always be grateful for the New Orleans trip; having Rhonda (Roberts) surprise us brought our relationship so much closer. I am sorry that Mikey (Michael Bartz) cant be with us, but he is in my heart forever. In the last few years Ive gotten very close with Uncle Jim (James Ball). Hes a loving and helpful man who I adore. I feel also like my closeness with Tayo (Audrey Greene) has intensified. I have friends that I love like family as well. Having Cheryl (Grimm) walk back to my life made me incredibly happy. I havent known Sue (Susan Marks) as long, but her friendship has been a Godsend. I cant forget my "auxiliary children" either; Beth (Trieloff), Angie (Angela Hembrook), Heidi (Duerst), Jason (Rice), Danielle (Kalscheuer), and Joe (Waldmann) have been a blessing to my life. My coworkers at Premier Bank have been so wonderful through my illness. There arent words enough to thank them for all their support and generosity. People say that cancer is a death sentence, but I believe it is a life sentence. It gave me the opportunity to dot the Is and cross the Ts and let people know how much I love them. Im thankful to God for every single day I got. I am so appreciative of the care I received by the nursing staff at Fort Hospital, St Marys, Home Health United, and Rainbow Hospice. They were wonderful and considerate and made my hospital stays tolerable. I love you all - anyone I did not mention by name, please dont feel bad. I do have chemo brain after all. Dont be sad - this is not my end but a new beginning. Its not goodbye; its Ill see you later, but take your time. P.S., If you come to my funeral, I expect you to sing! Marj is survived by her husband, John Dudzek; daughter, Anna-Theresa Dudzek; son, Joshua Dudzek; his fiance, Georgien Walls; two grandchildren, Faythe Walls and Dawson Walls; mother, Audrey Hoekstra; brother, Theodore Bartz; sister, Audrey Greene; in-laws, Debbie Bartz, Patricia Bartz, Ron and Donna Braman, and Rex Greene; uncle, James Ball; and many wonderful nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles. She was welcomed into Heaven by her father, Robert Bartz; brother, Michael Bartz; maternal grandparents (Henry and Marjorie Ball); father- and mother-in-law, Ralph and Doris Dudzek; and aunts and uncles. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:30AM on Friday, May 2, 2014 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Fort Atkinson, WI with Father Brian Wilk officiating. Friends may call after 9:30AM on Friday at the church until the time of the Mass. The Nitardy Funeral Home, Fort Atkinson, WI is assisting the family.
