Obituary of Gerald William Mepham

Gerald "Jerry" William Mepham, age 84,of Fort Atkinson, WI passed away on Friday, May 2, 2014 at the Fort Atkinson Memorial Hospital in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin. Gerald was born in Hebron, Wisconsin on February 4, 1930, the son of William Fredrick and Clara Bell (Ewins) Mepham. He graduated from Fort Atkinson High School. Jerry served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. Jerry was a resident of Rice Lake and Fort Atkinson for most of his life. On June 22, 1952, Jerry married Helen Ruth Peterson. Helen preceded him in death on May 28, 1988. Jerry was self-employed as a local milk hauler and in later years employed by the Clorox Company in Fort Atkinson and Rice Lake, WI. He also maintained the fleet of school buses for St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran School in Fort Atkinson. Jerry was a member of Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church and the Carving Club at the Fort Atkinson Senior Center. He enjoyed fishing and wood carving. Surviving are: His Children: Gail Flister, William (Kristen) Mepham, Shari (Steven) Burnett, Milo Mepham, and Timm (Ginger) Mepham, Seventeen Grandchildren and Thirteen Great-grandchildren, and a sister: Evelyn Mepham. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Helen, two sisters: Shirley Kutz and Dorothy Brewer, and a son-in-law: John Flister. Funeral Services will be held Friday, May 9, 2014, at 11:00 AM at the Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church, 404 Roosevelt Street, Fort Atkinson, WI. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery, Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin. Friends may call from 4-8PM on Thursday, May 8, 2014 at the Nitardy Funeral Home, 1008 Madison Ave. Fort Atkinson, WI and after 10AM on Friday, May 9, 2014 at the church until the time of the services.
