Obituary of Barbara Ann Lepley

Barbara Ann Lepley, age 82, of Fort Atkinson, WI passed away on Monday, May 26, 2014 at the Rainbow Hospice Inpatient Facility in Johnson Creek, Wisconsin. Barbara was born in La Crosse, WI on March 12, 1932, the daughter of Clinton L. and Nell O. (Olson) Peterson. She graduated from Central High School in La Crosse in 1949 and studied journalism at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. On December 27, 1951, Barbara married Glenn R. Lepley. The couple moved to Fort Atkinson in 1964. Barbara worked as a teller for Johnson Bank for 14 years. Barbara was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Fort Atkinson, WI. Barbara enjoyed her writing and bridge groups and the many friends she made. She had a lifelong love of reading and in recent years wrote many of her own wonderful stories for her family and friends to enjoy. She leaves a legacy of love, kindness, and thoughtfulness. Her munificence left an indelible mark on all of those who knew her. . She is survived by husband Glenn R Lepley, Fort Atkinson, WI; children David Lepley, Hayward, WI, Jeffrey (Joan) Lepley, Helena, MT, Jane (Mark) Babich, Hartland, WI, and Tim Lepley, Edwards, CO; grandchildren Matthew, Peter, Addie , Kyle, and Allie; and two brothers: Richard L. Peterson, Ellsworth, WI and Donald (Rose) Peterson, Charleston, WV Barbara was preceded in death by her parents and baby brother James. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 14, 2014 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 314 Barrie Street, Fort Atkinson, WI with Rev. Bryan Engfer officiating. A luncheon will follow the service in the church hall. Visitation will be from 10AM on Saturday, June 14, 2014 at Trinity Lutheran Church until the time of the services. Graveside services will be held at 1PM on Sunday, June 15, 2014 at the Viola Cemetery, Viola, Wisconsin, followed by cake and coffee at the United Methodist Church in Viola. Memorials may be made to Rainbow Hospice of Jefferson, WI, Trinity Lutheran Church, Fort Atkinson, or to the Fort Atkinson Public Library.
