Obituary of Alvin Leroy Hammen

Alvin Leroy Hammen, age 90, of Cambridge, WI, passed away on Sunday, June 8, 2014, at Azura Memory Care in Stoughton, WI. Alvin was born on a farm on Hwy 73 that was called the 80 on September 23, 1923, the son of Clarence G. and Dina T. (Erickson) Hammen. He attended Carpenter Grade School and Prairie Queen School. Alvin bought the home farm and farmed and took care of his parents in their last years. Alvin was baptized and confirmed at East Koshkonong Lutheran Church, Cambridge, WI where he was a lifelong member. He enjoyed playing his fiddle for events around the area. Alvin is survived by: Two Brothers: LaVerne (Sandra) Hammen, Neillsville, WI and Francis (Ingrid) Hammen, Port St Lucie, FL, Sister-in-Law: Phyllis Hammen and nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great nephews. Alvin was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Clifford and a sister Ilene and two nieces Judy Trickel and Mary Ellen Hammen. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00AM on Thursday, June 12, 2014 at East Koshkonong Lutheran Church, Cambridge, WI with Pastor Michael Rehak officiating. Burial will be in the East Koshkonong Lutheran Cemetery, Cambridge, WI. Friends may call after 10:00AM on Thursday at the church until the time of the services.
