Obituary of Katherine Ann Hensel

Katherine Ann Hensel, age 56, of Cambridge, WI, passed away due to complications from a stroke on Wednesday, June 25, 2014, at University Hospital & Clinics in Madison. Kathy was born July 20, 1957 in Fort Atkinson, WI the daughter of Raymond and Marjorie (Melster) Wheeler. She graduated from Cambridge High School in 1975 and earned her Elementary Education Degree from UW-Whitewater where she was also a member of Delta Zeta Sorority. Directly after graduating Kathy worked at a daycare facility in Fort Atkinson for a brief period. She then taught kindergarten in Cambridge for 25 years. She married Thomas Hensel on October 18, 1980, and together they raised two boys. Recently Kathy operated Cambridge Fitness. Kathy enjoyed reading, growing flowers, taking trips in their RV, and spending time with her family and friends. She will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her parents, aunt Sandra Wheeler and cousin Michael Wheeler. She is survived by her husband; Tom Hensel, two sons: Andrew "Andy" , and Matthew (Emily Ace) Brother: Steven (Maurine Jones) Wheeler of Tallahassee, Florida Nephew: Matt Wheeler Niece: Jessica Wheeler Uncle: Eugene Wheeler, aunt Virginia Wheeler, and cousin Nancy Wheeler, all of Fort Atkinson. Memorial Services will be held at 8:00 PM on Monday, June 30, 2014 at Nitardy Funeral Home, 208 N. Park Street, Cambridge with Rev. Richard Dowling officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4:00 PM until the time of service on Monday.
