Obituary of Royce Robert Boos

Royce Robert Boos, 71, of Rome, passed away on Saturday, June 28, 2014, at Rainbow Hospice Inpatient Facility in Johnson Creek. He was born on November 12, 1942, in Oconomowoc, son of the late Dewey and Augusta (Boerst) Boos. He graduated from Jefferson High School in 1961. He served in the US Army from 1964 to 1966. He was a charter member of the Bob Reed American Legion Post #513. He was a lifetime member of the Rome Volunteer Fire Department. Royce was skilled carpenter. He worked for Braun's Construction in Jefferson and Boos Boys Construction in Rome. He was a dedicated hunter, avid gardener and fan of the Rome Raiders Baseball team. He enjoyed spending time with his family. He is survived by his brothers, Ralph (Shirley), Roger (Judi), and Wayne (Shirley) all of Rome; sister-in-law, Janice Boos of Sullivan; brother-in-law, Chet (Mary) Trebitowski of Sullivan; 22 nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Delores Trebitowski and Shirley French; brother, Donnie Boos; and nephew, Dennis Trebitowski. Visitation will be at the Nitardy Funeral Home in Fort Atkinson on Wednesday, July 2, from 4 to 7 p.m. with a memorial service to follow at 7 p.m. led by Victor Bente. Burial, with military rites, will be at the Hoffman Cemetery in Rome on Thursday, July 3 at 10 a.m. Family and friends are invited to Miller Time to celebrate Royce's life. It will be held on Saturday, July 12 at 4 p.m. at the Rome Fireman's Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Rome Volunteer Fire Department, Tomorrow's Hope, Honor Flight, Johnson Creek Cancer Center, or a charity of your choice.
