Obituary of James Richard Mohoney

James R Mohoney, age 48, of Sun Prairie, WI, passed away on Tuesday, July 1, 2014, at his home. He was born November 7, 1965 in Fairbanks, Alaska, the son of Donald and Eudora (Kalowinski) Mohoney. Jim graduated from Madison East High School in 1983. In 1991, Jim married Dawn (Gasper) Mohoney. In 1993, he received his degree as a surgical technician from MATC. Jim worked in the medical field for 20 years, including 8 years on UW-Hospital's Transplant Team. Jim enjoyed spending time outdoors: camping, bicycling, ice fishing and hiking. He had a passion for cars and motorcycles and was a talented mechanic. Jim had a love of all music. He was a creative woodworker and in 1996 built his family's home in Cambridge. Jim was known as a fun loving guy with a goofy sense of humor. Jim is survived by his 3 children: Ethan, Nate and Nina Mohoney of Cambridge; mother: Eudora Mohoney of Sun Prairie; brothers: Jerry (DeAnn) Mohoney of Sun Prairie, Victor (Jayne) Mohoney of Madison; sister: Tina (Steve) Nale of Sun Prairie; girlfriend: Melinda Davis and daughters Alicia and Erin of Sun Prairie; and many nieces and nephews. Jim was preceded in death by his father Donald and sister Debbie. Memorial Services will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, July 10, 2014 at the Nitardy Funeral Home, 208 N. Park Street, Cambridge. Friends may call after 9:30 AM on Thursday at the funeral home.
