Obituary of Alma R. Chayka

Alma R Chayka, age 93, of Fort Atkinson, WI passed away on Monday, July 7, 2014 at the Alden Estates of Countryside in Jefferson, Wisconsin. Alma was born in Madison, Wisconsin on February 21, 1921, the daughter of Fred and Lillian (Beale) Waldron. She moved to Fort Atkinson in 1975. Alma was a member of the Frist Congregational United Church of Christ in Fort Atkinson. For many years, Alma worked for Oscar Meyer and Company and Frito-Lay-Red Dot and owned Dick and Alma's Token Creek Tavern in Token Creek, WI. She loved her dog Coco, dancing, and was a very good swimmer. She is survived by her husband: Richard T Chayka, Fort Atkinson, WI, two step-children: Joan (Ralph) Spitale, Bloomfield, MI and Alan (Nancy) Chayka, Sussex, NJ, and four grandchildren: Kristina, Alison, Daniel, and Emily. Alma was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers; Elmer, Bert, Robert, Richard, and her twin Alvin who was killed at Normandy on D-Day, and three sisters: Ella, Leona, and Virginia. Family Graveside Services were held at the Middleton Junction Cemetery, Middleton, Wisconsin. The Nitardy Funeral Home, Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin assisted the family.
