Obituary of Dorothy Gertrude Hartwig

Dorothy Gertrude Hartwig, age 89, of Fort Atkinson, WI passed away on Friday, July 18, 2014 at the Rainbow Hospice Inpatient Facility in Johnson Creek, Wisconsin. Dorothy was born in Jefferson, Wisconsin on January 4, 1925, the daughter of Joseph and Adelheid (Blaesel) Wollet. She graduated from Jefferson High School in 1942. Dorothy worked for the District Attorney's Office for 15 years and was very proud of her short hand skills. On July 15, 1950, Dorothy married Carl Edward Hartwig in Jefferson, Wisconsin. Carl preceded her in death on February 13, 2011. Dorothy was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Fort Atkinson, WI. She enjoyed gardening, fishing, and traveling. Surviving are: Son: Robert (Leanne) Hartwig, Fort Atkinson, WI, Three Grandchildren: Lukas Hartwig, Noah Hartwig, and Bethany Hartwig, and Brother-in-law: Joseph Hartzeim, Horicon, WI. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, brothers; Ruben, Mark, and Joseph Wollet, sisters: Marie Hedrick, Agnes Wollet, Helen Schopen, Rose Hartzeim, and an infant sister Frances Wollet. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, July 25, 2014, at 11:00 AM at the St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1660 Endl Blvd, Fort Atkinson, WI with Father Brian Wilk and Father John Hedrick celebrating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery, Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin. Friends may call after 10AM on Friday, July 25, 2014 at the church until the time of the mass.
