Obituary of Walter Edgar Leverenz

Walter "Wally" Edgar Leverenz, age 82, of Whitewater, WI passed away on Friday, July 18, 2014 at his home. Wally was born in Eagle, Wisconsin on January 31, 1932 the son of Edgar and Angeline (Sager) Leverenz. He graduated from Mukwonago High School in 1950. Wally served his Country in the U.S. Air Force from 1951 until 1955 during the Korean Conflict. On November 29, 1968, Wally married Joyce Reuteler. Wally worked for Waukesha Engine for 43 1/2 years. Wally was a volunteer with the Palmyra Fire Department from 1965 until 1985. He was a member of the First English Lutheran Church, Whitewater, WI, and a 30 year member and charter member of the Palmyra Lions Club. Wally enjoyed golfing at the Whitewater Country Club and woodworking. Surviving are: Wife: Joyce Leverenz, Whitewater, WI, Children: Gail Beach, Hunington, IN, Daniel Leverenz, Minnesota, Jeanne (Raymond) Malson, Oklahoma City, OK, Shelley Bertzyk, Killeen, TX, and Terrie Leverenz, Waukesha, WI, Grandchildren: Chad Beach, Angie Herrera, Jamie Sue Fieser, John and Becky Malson, Joshua (Abby Swift) Leverenz, Hannah Still, Ben Colon, Zachary Hibbard, and Brittany Colon, Great-grandchildren: Gregory, Shane, Emily, and Sam, Sister: Ethel Nobel, New Berlin, WI., and two brothers-in-law: Earl (Sue) Reuteler, Mukwonago, WI and Dennis (Kathy) Reuteler, East Troy, WI. Wally was preceded in death by his parents, brother Donald, and daughter Cheryl Deegan. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, July 26, 2014, at 11:00 AM at the First English Lutheran Church, 401 W. Main Street, Whitewater, WI with Steve Hanson officiating. Friends may call after 9AM on Saturday, July 26 at the church until the time of the services. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider a memorial to the First English Lutheran Church in Whitewater, Rainbow Hospice of Jefferson, WI, or to the Whitewater Fire and Rescue Squad.
