Obituary of Barbara Rose Seres

Barbara Rose Miller Seres Barbara Seres, age 88, passed away Monday, July 21, 2014 at Wellington Place in Fort Atkinson. She was born on February 5, 1926 to Arnold and Agnes (Regling) Miller. Barb graduated from Fort Atkinson High School with the class of 1943. In 1949 she joined the Navy and was stationed at the Naval Hospital in Corona, CA. It was here she met her husband, Joseph Seres. They were married on September 5, 1952 at Camp Pendleton, CA. He predeceased her on April 8, 1966. With her four young girls she moved back to Fort Atkinson to be close to her family. She was a devoted mother and in turn her daughters were devoted to her. She worked at Butler Mfg. and Meister Candies. Upon her retirement she volunteered for the Nearly New Shoppe at the Methodist Church, the Thrift Shop downtown and the VFW Auxiliary Post 1879. She is survived by her daughters: Susan (Steven) Plue and their daughter Erin (Joel) MacMillan and their children Joseph and Kjersten, Beth Seres and her daughter Nicole (James) Rader, Marianne (Paul) Vogel. And their sons Brett and Bradley, Margaret (Allan) Vogel and their children Lauren (Michael) Bretl and Justin (Rebecca Findlay) Vogel. Special nieces Barbara ( Bill) Wellnitz and Kathy Street. Many other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Dr. Joseph Seres, her parents, brothers Shelborn, Jerome and Lynn and sisters Nadene Eichel, Jeanne Justus, Noreen Roglitz and Janet in infancy. Grandchildren Jordan Vogel and Erica Plue and other relatives. Per Barbs' request there will be no services. There will be a memorial luncheon at the VFW club house on September 20, 2014 and private family internment. Memorials may be made to the VFW Auxiliary Post #1879 Cancer Fund. The Nitardy Funeral Home, Fort Atkinson, WI is assisting the family.
