Obituary of Emma Emilia Rodewald

Emma Rodewald, 88, of Fort Atkinson, died on Thursday July 24, 2014 at Waunakee Manor in Waunakee, WI. Emma was born in Germany on September 20, 1925, the daughter of Romuald and Anna (Brittner) Pinkawa. She along with her husband and family immigrated to Beaver Dam in 1964. Emma worked alongside her husband at Griesbaum's Bakery which they later purchased. In 1970 they moved to Ft. Atkinson where they owned arid operated Rodewald's Bakery until the early 1980s, when they retired. Emma enjoyed knitting, needle point and crocheting, most of all she loved cooking and baking for family and friends, especially her grandsons. She loved to entertain. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Fort Atkinson. Surviving are her two sons, Albert (Donna) Rodewald of Franklin TN, Bill (Brigitte) Rodewald of Dane WI, five grandsons; Ryan (Mary) Rodewald, Gus (Kristen) Rodewald, Jordan Rodewald, Russell Rodewald and Nik Rodewald, great grandson Jet Rodewald and great granddaughter Anastasia Rodewald. Emma was preceded in death by her husband German, her parents and brother Johan. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2PM on Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1660 Endl Blvd., Fort Atkinson, WI with Father Brian Wilk celebrating. Interment will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Fort Atkinson, WI. Friends may call after 1PM on Wednesday at the church until the time of the Mass. The Nitardy Funeral Home, Fort Atkinson is assisting the family.
