Obituary of Conrad Gene Bender

Conrad Gene Bender, age 68, of Fort Atkinson, WI passed away on Monday, August 4, 2014 as a result of an automobile accident. Conrad was born in Plainfield, Wisconsin on May 24, 1946, the son of Glenn and Mildred (Hendricks) Bender. He graduated from Whitewater High School in 1964. Conrad served in the U.S. Army National Guard. Conrad worked as a mechanic for 20 years for Krentz Auto in Fort Atkinson, retiring in 2012. On August 5, 1988, Conrad married Sandra Grady. Conrad had a passion for his grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with his family, He worked on restoring cars in his garage, turning "junk" into a restored beauty. Surviving are: Wife: Sandra Bender, Fort Atkinson, WI, Son: Randy Bender, Conover, WI, Daughter: Kelly Bender, Madison, WI, Step-Daughter:Cindy Hoffman, Fort Atkinson, WI, Step-Son:Kevin (Shawn) Korth, Cambridge, WI, Five Grandchildren: Katie, Mollie, and Gracie Korth, and Isaiah and Eli Hoffman, Mother: Mildred Davis, Mayville, WI, Brothers: Bob Davis, AZ, Ron Bender, Plainfield, WI, Glen (Kathy) Bender, Janesville, WI, and Ivan (Cris) Davis, Jefferson, WI, Sisters: Carol (Robert) Loefer, Eagle, WI, and Cindy (Jeff) Helms, Arkansas. Conrad was preceded in death by his Father, Glenn, brothers: Bruce and Bennie Bender, and George Davis, and sister Joyce Davis. Funeral Services will be held Friday, August 8, 2014, at 11:00 AM at the St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1660 Endl Blvd, Fort Atkinson, WI with Father Thomas Coyle officiating. Burial will be in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin. Friends may call from 4-8PM on Thursday, August 7, 2014 at the Nitardy Funeral Home, 1008 Madison Ave., Fort Atkinson, WI and after 10AM on Friday, August 8, 2014 at the church until the time of the services.
