Obituary of Lisle James Piper

Lisle James Piper, Jr. 90, died August 14, 2014 at his home . He was born August 18, 1923 in the Town of Cold Spring to Lisle and Leona (Akin) Piper, Sr. Lisle (Juny) married Clarice Monhardt, on June 22, 1947. He was a lifelong area resident and farmer. For many years he enjoyed deer hunting, pheasant hunting, and fishing trips to Canada with his friends. He served on the Cold Spring Town Board as supervisor and chairperson from 1974 to 2009. He was a Jefferson County Supervisor from 1988-2004, and served on the Jefferson County Highway, Planning and Zoning Committee, the Health and Farm Committee, and was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Cold Spring. Lisle is survived by his wife, Clarice, one daughter, Debra, of Whitewater, one son, Jon (Karen) of Cottage Grove, Minnesota, a sister, Joyce Duffin of Whitewater, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers Myron and Donald. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 17 at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Cold Spring, with Pastor Schallert officiating. Visitation will be at 1:00 p.m. until time of service with burial in Cold Spring Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Cold Spring, the Whitewater Food Pantry, or the Alzheimer's Association. The Nitardy Funeral Home, Whitewater, Wisconsin is assisting the family.
