Obituary of David Gerald Riley

David Gerald Riley, 72, passed away peacefully at his home on September 10, 2014 after a two year battle with Merkel Cell Carcenoma. David was born in Lima Center, Wisconsin on September 15, 1941 to George and Theresa (Egnoski) Riley. He was the fourth of eleven children. In the course of his life, he worked on various farms and loved working in the fields and with cattle. He met Janice Marie Mauel in 1961 and the two were married on July 27, 1963. They resided in LaGrange, WI. and David worked as a herdsman until November 21, 1966 when he was hired at Waukesha Engine Dresser as a drill press operator in Dept. 28. He worked in many departments for the next 37 years until his retirement in 2003. David was a member of the I am Local 1377 District 10 union. After retirement David enjoyed going to his property up north and working in his workshop. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing, pheasant/deer hunting, camping, carpentry and bowling. He will be deeply missed by his wife Jan; daughter, Tammy (Dan) Parker; Son, Corey(Tracey) Riley. He was the beloved Grandfather to Curtis, Kasey and McKenna. He will also be missed by his brothers and sisters;Gladys Hilderbrandt, Milwaukee, Elsie Beaver, Palmyra, Betty Franz, Mead, Washington, Michael (Kathy) Riley, Whitewater, Richard (Mary) Riley, Whitewater, Gary Riley, Spring Green, Terry (Cynthia) Riley, Adams, Barb (Larry McKinney, Minot, ND. and many other relatives and good friends. David was preceded in death by his mother; Theresa Egnoski Riley, brother; Ronald Riley and sister; Rose White. Services will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2014 at 11:00am at the Nitardy Funeral Home, 550 N. Newcomb St., Whitewater, Wisconsin. A visitation will be held on Saturday from 9am until the time of the service.
