Obituary of Marion Frances Harris

Marion Frances Harris, age 84, of Whitewater, WI passed away on Thursday, September 25, 2014 at the University Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin. Marion was born in Whitewater, Wisconsin on March 9, 1930, the daughter of Frederick August and Martha Anna Maria (Arndt) Papcke. On January 20, 1956, Marion married Gerald Merle Harris in Whitewater, WI. Marion worked as a waitress at Sterlingworth, Crossroads, and Evergreen Country Club. She enjoyed skiing, quilting, bowling, and sewing. She was an avid card player, a great story teller and her greatest joy was sharing her skills with her grandchildren Surviving are: Two Daughters: Marie (Roger) Parker, Whitewater, WI and Candice (Dan) Strand, Rhinelander, WI, Four Grandchildren: Michelle, Stacy, Lauren, and Jordan, Four Great-grandchildren: Owen, Maddie, Mason, and Sawyer, Four Brothers: David (Barbara) Papcke, Jack (Jan) Papcke, Norman (Anita) Papcke, and Darvon (Betty) Papcke and Five Sisters: Arlene Rowley, Marjorie (Eric) Roloff, Carol (David) Agen, Doris (Leroy) DeVries, and Diane (Floyd) Finney. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Marion was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and a brother Allen Papcke. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, September 27, 2014, at 11:00 AM at the Nitardy Funeral Home Chapel, 550 N. Newcomb Street, Whitewater, WI with Rev. Gary Shields officiating. Interment will be in the Hillside Cemetery, Whitewater, Wisconsin. Visitation will be after 10AM on Saturday, September 27, 2014 at the Nitardy Funeral Home Chapel, Whitewater, WI until the time of the services.
