Obituary of Dennis James Rasmussen

Dennis J. Rasmussen, 63 of Johnson Creek (formerly Marshfield) passed away peacefully on Sunday evening September 28, 2014 at his home with his family. Visitation will be on Friday October 03, 2014 from 11:00am � 2:00pm at Rembs Funeral Home (Marshfield). A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm at the funeral home, following visitation. A celebration of life meal in honor of Dennis will be held at The Eagles Club (Marshfield) following the visitation and memorial services. Dennis was born on July 6, 1951 in Marshfield, WI to Peter "Bert" and Arvilla (Kuehlman) Rasmussen. He was a 1969 graduate of Marshfield Senior High School. He was married to Barbara R. Gregorich on May 14, 1982 in Marshfield. Dennis was a cabinet maker for most of his life, and retired in 2013. He was known by many as the ultimate �handy man�. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching the Packers, Badgers and Brewers and loved to spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Dennis will be well remembered by his wittiness and his sincere friendships he shared with many. He is survived by his wife Barb, children, Keri (Zabdiel Rosario) Rasmussen of Puerto Rico, Kelly Rasmussen of Marshfield, and Becky (Scott) Heth of Johnson Creek; 8 grandchildren, Valentina and Amalia Rosario Rasmussen; Brett and Lucas Kreklau and Jordan, Caden, Brayden and Brody Heth. He is further survived by his siblings, Evelyn (Alfred) Alf of Naples, FL; Ila Seidl of Marshfield; Janice "Jan" Rasmussen of Marshfield; Marian (Gary) Gunn of Marshfield; Jack Rasmussen of Green Bay; Vicky (Duane) Anderson of Sun Prairie; and Larry (Bonnie) Rasmussen of Marshfield. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant sister Sandra, brother Keith Rasmussen, brother Roger Rasmussen and brother-in-law Don Seidl. Memorials may be designated to Rainbow Hospice Care of Johnson Creek WI. The Nitardy Funeral Home, Fort Atkinson, WI assisted the family locally.
