Obituary of Joyce Elaine Brown

Joyce Elaine Brown, age 84, of Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin passed away on Sunday, October 5, 2014 at her home. Joyce was born in Palmyra, Wisconsin on May 31, 1930, the daughter of Edward John and Alveretta (Baldwin) Fabian. On July 20, 1947, Joyce married Howard O. Brown. Howard preceded her in death on February 15, 1985. Joyce farmed with her husband for many years in rural Fort Atkinson and she enjoyed being a homemaker. She and Howard always opened their doors to family and friends in need. Over the past 30 years her greatest hobbies included crafting, crocheting, doll making, flower arranging, and sewing. Joyce enjoyed traveling to many craft fairs to display and sell her handiwork. Surviving are: Her children: Judith R. (Larry Bemis) Koenigs, Edgerton, WI, Shirley L. (Bill) Claxton, Rineyville, KY, and Thomas E. (Susan) Brown, Fort Atkinson, WI, Daughter-in-law: Diane K. Brown, Janesville, WI, Nine grandchildren, Thirty-one great-grandchildren and thirteen great-great-grandchildren, Sister: Arlette (Calvin) Gilbo, Milwaukee, WI, and Sister-in-law: Mary Ann Fabian, Milwaukee, WI. She is further survived by a special niece Diana Black and many other nieces and nephews. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, a son Richard H. Brown, a son-in-law: Richard Koenigs, a sister Helen Klug, four brothers: Raymond Chapman, Richard Fabian, Earl Fabian, and Edward Fabian, and special friend Glenn Ebbert. Funeral Services will be held Friday, October 10, 2014, at 1:00 PM at the Nitardy Funeral Homes Chapel, 1008 Madison Ave., Fort Atkinson, WI. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery, Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin. Visitation will be from 4-8PM on Thursday, October 9, 2014 at the Nitardy Funeral Home Chapel, Fort Atkinson, WI.
