Obituary of Daniel George Menzer

Daniel George Menzer, 72, peacefully moved to his eternal "Home" Tuesday, October 21, 2014, from Eagle View Manor in Jefferson. Daniel was born February 22, 1942 in Chicago, Illinois to Conrad and Dorothy (Altergott) Menzer. After high school he graduated from Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, Trinity Seminary in Deerfield, Illinois, and UW Madison. He pastored Blackhawk Evangelical Free Church for a short time before spending the rest of his career at Fort Atkinson Middle School teaching eighth grade Social Studies. He loved his Lord, his family and his country. He derived great pleasure from his four grandchildren, fishing, playing ice hockey, cycling, and he was an avid fan of the Packers and UWW Warhawks football team. He is survived by his wife Carol of Fort Atkinson, daughter Carolyn (Dusty) Barels of Whitewater, son Tom (Laura) Menzer of Waukesha, their mother Shelly Menzer (Gerald) Fosdal of Rockdale. He is also survived by his four grandchildren Allyson and Ethan Barels, Lucas and Owen Menzer, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and one nephew. Nitardy Funeral Home in Fort Atkinson and Faith Community Church are assisting the family. Visitation will be at Nitardy Funeral Home, 1008 Madison Ave., Fort Atkinson, WI on Tuesday, October 28th from 4-7 P.M. and Wednesday, October 29th from 10-11 A.M. with services to follow at the Nitardy Funeral Home at 11AM. In lieu of flowers those wishing to express their sympathy may direct donations to Faith Community Church, Eagle View Manor or Alzheimer�s Association. The family wishes to especially thank the staff at Eagle View Manor and AseraCare Hospice for their outstanding care of Daniel.
