Obituary of Joseph Eiden

Joseph "Joe" Eiden, age 96, of Pembine, WI passed away on Thursday, January 8, 2015 at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King, Wisconsin. Joseph was born in Jefferson, Wisconsin on December 15, 1918, the son of Joseph and Stella (Wilcot) Eiden. He served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII, stationed in Fairbanks, Alaska. On May 4, 1940, Joe married Jane Elizabeth Mattoon. Jane preceded him in death on June 26, 2008. Joe was a lifelong resident of Fort Atkinson, WI before retiring to Pembine, Wisconsin in 1982 where he and Jane built a house on the Menomonee River. He worked in car sales for over 30 years at Bethke Chevrolet and then later Dickhoff Chevrolet in Milton, WI. Joe enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a fan of the Green Bay Packers. Surviving are: Two Sons: Timothy Eiden, Fort Atkinson, WI, and Peter (Inga) Eiden, Pembine, WI, Granddaughter: Kimberly (Mark) Flood, Great-grandson: Brandan Eiden, and nieces, and nephews. Joe was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a stillborn daughter Penelope, and two sisters: Margaret and Marion. Private Graveside Services with Military Rites will be held at the Evergreen Cemetery, Fort Atkinson, WI. The Nitardy Funeral Home, Fort Atkinson, WI is assisting the family locally.
