Audrey, as your friend you were always pushing me into projects I would say I couldn't do, projects in your class room or like Annie, with a lot of help from you, I could pull it off.
You left us all with wonderful memories.

My deepest sympathies go out to the entire Fixmer family. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you. I first met Audrey when I was still in grade school at St. Joe's. She taught our English class, and she always made things fun. She even started a school newspaper at St. Joe's. I got to know Audrey even more as I got older and worked with her on several plays, including The Sound of Music, A Midsummer Night's Dream and Oklahoma. She was a WONDERFUL director, and she made the whole creative process so much fun (especially the time we gave Rick James a home permanent so he would be 'curly' for his role as Curly). I learned a lot from Audrey over the years, and will always have a special place for her in my heart. I'm so very glad I had a chance to know her.

Audrey was an amazing person. She inspired and mentored me as a young teen; and gave me the love of the theater that I still possess. My condolences to her family for her passing. She will be missed.

Dear Kris and family - my heart goes out to you in your time of sorrow and I lift my voice in prayer:
"Shepherd me, O God,
beyond my wants,
beyond my fears,
from death into life.
Surely your kindness and mercy
follow me all the days of my life;
I will dwell in the house of my God
forevermore."

Audrey was the most amazing wife and mother as observed as our neighbor for many years on Riverside Drive. The Abendroths followed her life with great interest and admiration. I know your family will continue to celebrate all the good things her life demonstrated.
My best to all the Fixmers,
Karen (Abendroth) Sandvold

My consolences to the Fixmer family. I remember Audrey fondly as "Mrs. Fixmer" as a child growing up in F.A. My parent's were friends with Mr. and Mrs. Fixmer and we Chevalier kids hung out and got in trouble with the Fixmer kids. Unfortunately we moved away and I never got to experience her as a teacher. It's amazing how quickly the years have passed. Thinking of all of you and sending prayers and hugs. May she rest in peace.

To Audrey's Family: God's love and peace be with you as you adjust to this absence in your lives. In my memory, Mrs. Fixmer was always larger than life! As my English teacher, my forensics coach, and my first-ever theatrical director, Mrs. Fixmer had an enormous influence on me. I am forever grateful for her inspiration and encouragement.

Mrs. Fixmer was one of my very favorite English teachers. She always made learning fun, and encouraged me to stretch myself to be the best writer that I could be! I recently visited with her as she was having her nails done. It was fun to reconnect with her and share our love of education and writing! She was a true lady, and will be deeply missed. My prayers go out to the entire Fixmer family. Your mom was an absolutely amazing woman!
